Module 6 Blog
Take a few minutes to reflect on the content learned during this course.
Post a blog entry (your final one for this course!) to address the following questions
* What did you like or dislike about taking an online course?
I took my first on-line course in spring semester 2008. I was apprehensive. As it turns out all of my fears were unfounded and I appreciate the online format. I enjoy that I can roll out of bed in the morning, and without make up or combed hair I can go to class. Getting to a campus-based class can be exhausting. Driving through traffic, finding parking, and walking to class takes a fair amount of time and effort. I also appreciate that I can work at my own pace and on my own time frame. It is helpful when the instructor creates structure by instituting due dates.
There are only a couple of things missing from on-line courses. I miss the interaction with other students as well as getting to know my instructors.
* What topic did you learn the most about and what was your favorite topic?
The topic I learned and enjoyed the most would be module two, information retrieval. I appreciated learning about this topic because I believe it is one that I will continue to utilize on a regular basis, both as a grad student and NP. I welcome any information that will make my life easier and less frustrating.
• If you were the instructor, and this being the first course for all DNP and Master students, what would you do the same or different?
As a student I appreciate constructive feedback. With online courses it is difficult to know if the blogs, journals, and assignments I am creating are on the right track. I appreciated the comments I did receive.
I wasn’t sure if I would like having a portion of my assignments on a blog. Once I was able to navigate how the blog worked I really enjoyed it. I think I will continue to keep it up and post pictures for family and friends (My Dad calls and wants me to put up more pictures and posts).
